6月28日讯在欧洲杯小组赛比利时0-0战平乌克兰的比赛中，鲁尼作为BBC的嘉宾解说了比赛。

鲁尼在点评比赛时：“我们看到的不仅仅是比利时，很多球队，英格兰和荷兰，都采用了这种体系，似乎每支球队都在采用这种体系。尽管有像多库这样的边路球员，但还是没有球能传入禁区。我认为现在的比赛更加注重位置感，大家都想打出完美的进球。”

随后鲁尼更是调侃道：“我认为这是佩普的错！”
